GoldSky Cyber Security Joins Forces with National Center for Simulation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NCS & GoldSky Partnership

(04/15/2020) Winter Park, FL- GoldSky Cyber Security is excited to announce it has become a member of the Orlando-based National Center for Simulation (NCS), joining hundreds of other highly innovative industry members in the modeling, simulation and training (MS&T) community.

GoldSky will join forces with NCS and its members to educate federal prime and sub-contractors about the new DoD compliance framework, the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).  CMMC will serve as the validation process to assure appropriate levels of security controls and procedures are in place across the DoD’s vast network of industry partners, vendors and suppliers.

Certification will be required for DoD modeling, simulation, and training contractors in order to remain competitive once CMMC is officially released. The DoD requirement for compliance was initially targeting June of 2020. The date will most likely be delayed due to the Corona Virus epidemic. GoldSky’s Federal Security Practice Director, John Rodriguez, stated, “We are excited to be a member of NCS and look forward to supporting the MS&T community in their efforts to become CMMC certified. We are closely monitoring the CMMC-Advisory Board’s commentary and will keep NCS and its members updated regarding final guidance.”

GoldSky security engineers will also continue providing COVID-19 cybersecurity crisis guidance to NCS members, contractors, and vendors as the Telework Trend continues to evolve and become the “new normal” business model. The federal government has established telework guidelines that are available under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NIST is the federal government agency under the US Department of Commerce that is responsible for developing information security standards and guidelines, including minimum requirements for federal information systems.

GoldSky will offer NIST 800-46 baseline assessments and assist contractors in building secure and compliant telework infrastructures.

NCS and GoldSky are also planning to offer webinars as a way to evangelize and educate its members on the most current pressing information security and compliance issues.
